CEREC - Single
Visit Porcelain Restorations
We are pleased to offer our patients CEREC all porcelain crowns and
onlays using computer assisted design and milling (CAD/CAM) technology.
CEREC restorations are accurate, durable, and esthetic restorations
performed in a single appointment. This eliminates the need to wear
temporary crowns and come back for a second appointment to seat the
crown.
After determining the necessary
treatment, your tooth will be prepared similar to traditional
treatments. Your tooth is then coated with a
reflective contrast powder and a digital 3D infrared camera takes a
picture of your teeth. CEREC 3D software
allows us to design your restoration and customize it to your clinical
needs. The exact design specifications are sent to our milling machine
and your restoration is ready for placement in about 30 minutes. Your
ceramic restoration is then polished and bonded permanently into place.
The state-of-the-art CEREC system was developed at the University of
Zurich in Switzerland. Over a decade of clinical research and experience
supports the CEREC technology. We are excited to be leading the field in
the Walla Walla valley with this dental technology. To learn more about

| CEREC Crowns
For more heavily compromised teeth, a traditional treatment has been
a crown restoration, which can take several separate appointments. Using
the CEREC method, crown restoration is completed in a single appointment.
No impressions, no temporary crowns, no need for a second injection.

Diagnodent - Laser Cavity
Detector
Detecting cavities is sometimes challenging because the disease process
can start through microscopic defects in the hard surface enamel and
can readily sp

read into the softer tooth structure beneath the surface.
The external surface may appear normal and the decay can be hidden on
x-rays and manual probing of the tooth. Diagnodent allows us to locate
hidden decay with a laser light, and with treatment, stop the spread
of disease before it destroys the tooth from within.
We use a pen like probe and glide over tooth surfaces to check the health
of the tooth. A number scale and an alarm signals the operator when
there are signs of hidden decay. This new technology is completely safe
and pain free.
Schick Digital X-ray system and Digital Doc photos
By switching to digital imaging, we are able to produce sharp clear
images on our in-operatory computers in seconds. We can discuss the
image with our patients, make a diagnosis and recommend treatment
with the help of this technology. We are pleased to say that the use
of digital x-rays reduces the amount of radiation exposure to our
patients by 90%.
Planmeca ProMax Panoramic X-ray
PLANMECA's ProMax X-ray’s unique software-driven Robotic Arm
creates more imaging program possibilities than any other panoramic
X-ray available.
* In addition to general panoramic radiography, the unit offers enhanced
imaging programs for e.g. caries detection, periodontal diagnostics,
TMJ diagnostics.
* Transtomography®, a digital tomographic scanning program available
only with Planmeca ProMax, provides detailed morphologic diagnostics
of facial bones needed e.g. in implantology.
